Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: March 19, 2026

Kozite is committed to ensuring that kozite.com and app.kozite.com are accessible to all users, regardless of ability or assistive technology. We build a product that helps other organizations achieve accessibility compliance, our own platform is held to the same standard.

1. Our Commitment

Accessibility is foundational to what Kozite does. We help universities and enterprises detect, manage, and resolve WCAG violations across their web presence, and we hold our own interfaces to exactly those standards. Selling accessibility compliance software while tolerating inaccessible interfaces would be a contradiction we are not willing to accept.

Accessibility is considered at every stage of design and development: semantic markup, keyboard navigability, color contrast, focus management, and assistive technology compatibility are evaluated before features ship, not after.

2. Conformance Standard

We target conformance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.2 AA is the current industry benchmark and the technical standard referenced by ADA, Section 508, EN 301 549, and the European Accessibility Act.

WCAG 2.2 AA requires that content is:

  • Perceivable - information and interface components must be presentable in ways all users can perceive;
  • Operable - interface components and navigation must be operable without requiring mouse input;
  • Understandable - content and operation must be understandable by a broad audience;
  • Robust - content must be reliably interpreted by current and future assistive technologies.

3. Scope

This statement covers two properties:

  • kozite.com - the Kozite marketing website, including all public-facing pages (Home, Pricing, WCAG Guide, Checklist, Terms, Privacy, and this statement);
  • app.kozite.com - the Kozite web application, including the dashboard, issue management views, compliance reports, settings, and all authenticated interfaces.

The embeddable Chat Widget distributed to third-party websites is a separate deliverable and is also built to WCAG 2.2 AA standards. Third-party websites that embed the widget are responsible for the accessibility of their own surrounding content.

4. Measures We Take

To support accessible use of our platform and marketing site, we:

  • Use semantic HTML elements that convey meaning to assistive technologies without relying on ARIA overrides;
  • Provide a visible skip navigation link on every page so keyboard users can bypass repeated navigation;
  • Ensure all interactive elements - buttons, links, form controls, modals - are reachable and operable via keyboard alone;
  • Apply minimum color contrast ratios of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and UI components, verified against WCAG 2.2 SC 1.4.3 and SC 1.4.11;
  • Never use color as the sole means of conveying information - severity levels, status indicators, and alerts always include text labels or icons;
  • Provide meaningful, descriptive labels for all form inputs and interactive controls;
  • Mark decorative images and SVGs with aria-hidden="true" so screen readers skip them, and provide descriptive alt text for all informative images;
  • Ensure visible focus indicators meet the enhanced WCAG 2.2 SC 2.4.11 Focus Appearance requirements;
  • Implement ARIA live regions for dynamic content updates (scan progress, toast notifications, streaming AI guidance) so screen reader users receive timely feedback;
  • Support prefers-reduced-motion to limit or eliminate motion for users who opt out of animation;
  • Test interfaces with keyboard-only navigation and screen reader software (NVDA, VoiceOver) during development.

5. Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance across our platform, we acknowledge that no complex web application is perfectly accessible in all circumstances. We actively monitor and address gaps. Currently known areas under review:

  • The proxied page view used in Issue Detail (which renders the scanned third-party page inside the Kozite interface) inherits the accessibility characteristics of that third-party content. Kozite's injected highlight overlay meets our standards; the underlying page content does not.
  • PDF scan reports exported via html2pdf may have limited Tagged PDF support. We are evaluating alternatives to improve PDF accessibility for exported compliance reports.
  • Some complex data visualizations (burndown charts, heatmaps) presently provide chart summary text as a fallback; we are working toward richer accessible data table alternatives.

If you encounter an issue not listed here, please let us know using the contact information below.

6. Third-Party Content

Kozite uses the following third-party services that may affect your experience:

  • Google Fonts - used for typography on the marketing site. System font fallbacks are defined so content remains readable if the external font fails to load.
  • Google Analytics - analytics tracking that does not affect page content or keyboard navigation.
  • Stripe - used for payment processing in the billing flow. Stripe maintains its own accessibility statement. We have limited control over Stripe-hosted elements.
  • Google Gemini (AI) - powers AI-assisted guidance and the knowledge base chat. AI-generated content is delivered as plain text to accessible interface regions; the integration does not introduce accessibility barriers.

We cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party services, but we evaluate their impact and choose providers that take accessibility seriously.

7. Feedback and Contact

Your feedback matters. If you experience an accessibility barrier on any Kozite property, or if you would like to request information in an alternative format, please contact us:

8. Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility concern, you may escalate a complaint to the relevant national or regional authority. Residents of the EU may contact their national accessibility enforcement body under the European Accessibility Act.

We are committed to working in good faith to resolve any accessibility issue promptly.
